Bullion Work: Wall Hanging

One of my last pending project finally finished. I wanted to try bullions on my favourite design.
Do you remember this design!!? I did net work on this design long back and that was my first post in my blog.

In this the whole design measures 15" tall and 8" wide. With border it measures 11"*18".
For this project I have used about 30 shades in silk thread.
Bullion stitch is the main stitch. French knots, stem stitch, chain stitch , fly stitch and feather stitch are the other stitches I have used.

Saree Blouse

To match with fancy saree I did this long and short stitch on my favourite design for many years and did only now. Am happy with the lovely colour combination. So now to match with the saree I am working on tassels  and adding beads too.

Balloon Work: kurthi

Balloon work is nothing but long and short stitch done on balloon shapes. Usually done with 2 different shades of threads. There are many design books available in the market for balloon work.
I did this work on fine quality cotton material. The threads and the fabric colours  slightly vary from the actual colours.
You can see there are 2 incomplete flowers in the neck part. I thought the neck will be too small. If the tailor can make suitable neck pattern I will complete them.
I like this design very much. I did the same work on same design many years back; may be more than 8 years back to gift someone. This is also as a gift to someone..:). Planning to do one more with the same..
At present I am working on a kancheepuram silk saree with kutch designs.
Daughter doing good. I am going to stay with her in PG for a week. No cooking , no house chores. So I will get lot of time to do embroidery.

Long & Short Stitch: Saree Blouse

This time I worked on un stitched silk blouse piece as gift to some one.

I have used long n short stitch for flowers. Herringbone stitch for leaves.

Simple long and short stitch on a saree blouse  matching with the motifs on the saree. For neck line I did chained cretan stitch.

I did this work on one of my saree blouse. For flowers I have used long and short stitch and for the centre of the flowers I have used honey comb filling..herringbone and rope stitchare the other stiches used and thread is anchor cotton..

I did this simple embroidery with long and short stitch on a kurthi. Rope stitch and french knots are the the other stitches used here..

I met my friend Gina through blogger world who sent some lovely table cloth which was stamped with lovely design. One of the corner was already embroidered beautifully with long and short stitch. I felt happy because that embroidery was very good reference to improve my skills in long and short stitch. I need to improve a lot on colour merging techniques.
Susan also helped me by sending some beautiful photos of fall leaves which was a good reference for colour shading.
