Here I have done one more kurthi with my favourite chemanthi stitch variation with multiple colour of  anchor threads. How is it!!?

This is one more embroidery work for yoke and sleeves. The work is pachis work and chemanthi work done with 2 strands of silk on fine cotton material.

Chemanthi Stitch Variation: Saree Blouse

Here I am posting one of chemanthi stitch variation done on saree blouse. And I did muvvala kuttu for the neck line. I am doing the same work on saree too.

In fact I have completed few of my long pending but small embroidery works. Will post them later  once after i get my camera back.

Chemanthi Stitch: Saree

It is almost 2 months since I post any of my new projects. Yesterday I completed simple project on a saree with my favourite chemanthi stitch. For borders I have worked medium sized motifs, for pleats big bunches and small motifs on the rest of the saree.

I did  variation of chemanthi stitch for a cushion cover..used chemanthi stitch for flowers, oyster stitch for leaves and knotted stem stitch for stems..

This embroidery on these saree blouses is worked with anklet stitch, chemanthi stitch, muvvala kuttu and chemanthi stitch variation..

Chemanthi Flowers(daisy stitch variation): Salwar

This is one more type of chemanthi stitch formed using daisy stitch. I fondly call it as Leela's chemanthi stitch. Leela whom i met in indusladies community in the year 2008 developed this beautiful stitch when I posted my variation of chemanthi stitch there. She is also the first person who developed new version of anklet stitch.
How nice it would be if like minded people at one place sharing and learning the new ideas!!

Material: Cotton
Stitches: variation of daisy stitch(chemanthi flowers) for flowers, feather stitch for leaves and stem stitch for stems
Threads: 2 strands of silk thread

Tutorial: Chemanthi Stitch

To begin with draw a small circle of  your desired size. I usually prefer a circle of I.5 cm diameter. As chemanthi flower have many petals you too can make as many petals as you like on a circle.

In this tutorial I have used 2 strands of silk thread.

NOTE: Whenever you pass the needle from the centre of the circle it should pass on the same point so that when flower complets a hole is formed in the centre of the flower like in the buttonhole flower.

In my video tutorial I have mentioned stitches like 1,2,3 and 4.

Each petal is formed with four stitches.

 Now bring up the needle from the centre of the circle and pass it through the fabric at point1 just below the circle say 3-4 mm below from the circle and bring up on a circle at point2.  This is stitch 1.

Now pass the needle  through the centre of the fabric and bring up the needle just above the centre say 3-4 mm. Keeping the working thread below the needle pull it through so that a loop is formed. This is stitch2.

Now pass the needle at point5 just below the circle beside the point1. and bring up at point6. Don't confuse here. Point2 and point6 falls on the same point. This is the stitch3.

Now pass the needle through the centre of the circle and bring up just above the centre like in the picture. observe the angle of the needle. This is the stitch4.

Here completes one petal.

Here completes the chemanthi stitch.

Chemanthi Stitch Variation: Saree Blouse

Now a days my daughter showing some interest in wearing  sarees. Easy job for me to stitch on saree blouse as it take less time. Click on the images to get bigger and clear images.

As I told you in my earlier post I have chosen chemanthi stitch variation as main stitch and added stones. I could not find matching kundans in my collection to add in between the stones, there are no  shops either as  strike is going on in Andhra Pradesh. So I have to wait till I get the perfect kundans or beads.

Chemanthi Stitch Variation

When no design and stitch was finalised for my next project, it was boring sitting without any embroidery projects. So just stitched this motif for a  hankie with my favourite  chemanthi stitch and with my favourite colour combination. This stitch is one of the application of chemanthi stitch with little variation. When I stitched this motif I remembered  I did lavangam work on a white tusser kameez for my daughter very long time back. I did so many embroidery works, many were gone out of my mind as I have no pictures of them..:(.  It is almost  13 years I am doing embroidery.
This work is going to be my next project , small project but.

Kutch Work: Saree Blouse

Here I have completed kutch work on saree blouse.
I somewhat feeling it is looking clumsy.
Difficult to transfer the design on  a stitched lining blouse..:(
Kutch work, chemanthi stitch, and portuguese knotted stem stitch are the stitches used and stitched with 2 strands of anchor cotton thread..
