Badla work

Badla a thin metal strip which is worked like a knot with a special needle which is having 2 eyes, all along the design on a fabric to give a rich look to the fabric. Here I am showing you some of the designs from the desgn book published by Mahila art center.  These designs can also be used for french knots, pearl knots, bead work etc.

Wheatear stitch: Saree

Though I don't like the wheatear stitch much saree became my favourite. The wheat stitch is worked with 2 strands of  silk thread and embellished with stones, beads and pearls.
In Andhra the stitch is called kanki kuttu.
