Here I have done one more kurthi with my favourite chemanthi stitch variation with multiple colour of  anchor threads. How is it!!?

Chemanthi Stitch Variation: Saree Blouse

Here I am posting one of chemanthi stitch variation done on saree blouse. And I did muvvala kuttu for the neck line. I am doing the same work on saree too.

In fact I have completed few of my long pending but small embroidery works. Will post them later  once after i get my camera back.

Bullion Stitch: Saree Blouse

My camera is not yet fixed completely so posting this embroidery work late. This blouse is matching one for my saree for which I did embroidery work some time back with bullion stitch. Now only I did finish for the blouse with same stitch but with some other design.

Of late I am interested in making saree tassels. I did few but could not take the pictures as my camera is not working properly. 

In the below picture you can see one type of tassel making which is under process. It is yet to be stitched more and trimmed.

Chemanthi Stitch

I did  variation of chemanthi stitch for a cushion cover..used chemanthi stitch for flowers, oyster stitch for leaves and knotted stem stitch for stems..

Tutorial: Coin Work

 Coins are made with metals which come in different size and shapes. They are also called as antique kundans. Here I have used round coins in my tutorial.You can stitch  round mirrors in place of coins.
You can see my simple project with coins here.

 Putting the coin/shisha on fabric draw a circle around it.
(I have drawn one more circle to add further decoration to the stitch. so please ignore it.)

work chain stitch all along the marked circle. Take care to stitch uniform chain stitches.

Then bring up the needle from the centre of any chain stitch.

Start working detached buttonhole stitches through the chain stitches towards the centre of the circle.

after completing the half of the circle..

.. place the coin inside it like in the pictures and complete the circle.
I  skipped to add few more pictures of the tutorial as I am  uncomfortable with my pigmented nails showing in the pictures.

 Then stitch one more round of detached chain stitch and pull the thread tightly so that the coin is fixed firmly. This part is very important. If you want you can stitch one more round of detached chain stitch. To anchor the thread you slip the needle under the stitches and bring down the needle and anchor the thread.
You can decorate it with many other stitches. There are plenty of options to decorate a shisha.

Here I have used chemanthi stitch variation to decorate the coin.

Saree Blouse: Coin Work

I worked simple coin work on a saree blouse. These coins are also called antique kundans.I have used chain stitch method to attach coin like in shisha work. We can use round shisha/kundan in place of coins.
I have taken the picture to show you how to fix the coins and I will post  tutorial in my next post.
After fixing the coin I have used chemanthi stitch variation to decorate it. Muvvala kuttu , satin stitch and stem stitch are the other stitches used.
I have used 2 strands of anchor cotton thread.

Chemanthi Stitch Variation: Saree Blouse

Now a days my daughter showing some interest in wearing  sarees. Easy job for me to stitch on saree blouse as it take less time. Click on the images to get bigger and clear images.

As I told you in my earlier post I have chosen chemanthi stitch variation as main stitch and added stones. I could not find matching kundans in my collection to add in between the stones, there are no  shops either as  strike is going on in Andhra Pradesh. So I have to wait till I get the perfect kundans or beads.

New Chemanthi Stitch

I am happy to show you one more chemanthi  stitch variation. While I was playing with stitches I came out with this stitch which is completely new for me. Since stitch is a composite stitch I just thought to give it a simple name as new chemanthi stitch. Though this stitch looks perfect for flowers it can also be used  as border stitch.
First one is worked with perle cotton and the other with cone thread. I did a sampler on a hankie. May be I will work on some big motif but not on big projects like sarees in future because of my health condition..:(
