Tutorial: Badla Work

In my previous post I have shown you one badla worked saree and few designs.
Now I show you how to do badla work.

 This is the badla and special needle

 Pass the badla from top eye..

 ..and then pass it thorough the second eye.

 leave a small tail and fold it like in the picture..

work a small cross..

 cross stitch is done here..

after completing the cross cut the strip in the back side of the fabric and fold it ..










Please have a look at video tutorial in my next post to get better idea...as someone in my old blog commented that my English is horrible. But still I am trying to give my best to give clear tutorials.. :)

Badla work

Badla a thin metal strip which is worked like a knot with a special needle which is having 2 eyes, all along the design on a fabric to give a rich look to the fabric. Here I am showing you some of the designs from the desgn book published by Mahila art center.  These designs can also be used for french knots, pearl knots, bead work etc.
