Mixed stitches: Saree Blouse

For this saree blouse I have used french knots, stem sitch, pistil stitch, kutch work, cable stitch, net work , net knots  and used single colour like in the saree..

Peacock:Wall Hanging

I  can't  wait to post this peacock though it is not framed yet. Of all the peacocks I have done so far on the same design I liked this peacock the most.

Peacock: Kurthi

I did one more(4th)  embroidery on the same design, this time to gift my niece..you can find my other projects with this design here n here..
long and short stitch,stem stitch, bullion work, shaded buttonhole stitch, herringbone stitch, pistil stitch, buttonhole stitch, network, french knots, pearl knots are the stitches used. And I have used metallic crochet threads(wings), rimzim threads(feathers), anchor cotton threads and silk threads.

Peacock 2

I did second project of peacock on raw silk material for my daughter's kurthi. You can see my first project here.
                                                                                                                                             

 For peacock feathers I have used rimzim thread and worked stem stitch. For eye of the feather I have used silk thread and worked long and short stitch with silk thread.

 Flowers are done with longand short stitch, shaded buttonhole stitch, chemanthi stitch, bullion work . Leaves are done with long and short and chemanthi stitch. Bark is done with stem stitch.

Peacock:My dream project

Until I saw rimzim threads I have no idea to work on peacock designs. I bought different colour threads but waiting for the suitable designs. once I requested in indusladies (an online community) there came a plenty of lovely designs from my friends which made  me more confusing as to which designs to select.
Finally fixed this design and studied many peacock embroidery done by others on net and also studied the photoes.

Roughly five colours of rinzim threads are used for feathers.  for peacock's body I have used 16 shades of silk thread. And I have used more than 20 stitches  in this project. For peacock's neck I have used stem stitch. The other stitches are chain stitch, broken chain stitch, detached chain stitch, open chain stitch, long n short, manipuri sttich, french knots, buttonhole stitch, bullion rose, tailed pearl knots, fern sttich, double chain stitch,herringbone, Portuguese knotted, open fish bone, leaf stitch, double feather,3 types of chemanthi variation, oyster stitch, tailed oyster stitch, S knots, lavangam etc..

I did this peacock for my niece. One peacock on kurthi and feathers here and there on the top and for sleeves.
