Badla work

Badla a thin metal strip which is worked like a knot with a special needle which is having 2 eyes, all along the design on a fabric to give a rich look to the fabric. Here I am showing you some of the designs from the desgn book published by Mahila art center.  These designs can also be used for french knots, pearl knots, bead work etc.

  1. fascinating to read about the double eyed needle, not come across these, wonder do you thread the metal through both eyes to stop the needle unthreading

    1. you are right Margaret..we thread the the strip through the 2 eyes so that it dont slip..we make small cross (shown in the first picture) and cut it and fold the strip..will show you the picture in this post..
