This time I worked on un stitched silk blouse piece as gift to some one.
I have used long n short stitch for flowers. Herringbone stitch for leaves.
Before taking the pictures I thought to iron the cloth to get neat pictures.
See what I did..I dont know what to do now. Any suggestions please!??..

such a pretty piece of embroidery, such a shame that the iron seems to have been too hot, not sure what you can do to repair the damage, do hope someone comes up with a solution
ReplyDeleteBeautiful neck design so as the stitching. Sad to see the burnt cloth. I used to keep a thin towel on top of any silk cotton cloth while ironing. One suggestion regarding the design. First draw the deisgn for any one side till the middle of the neck. Then draw the mirror image of it on the opposite side. In this way the design will even more beautiful. The color combo is nice. I too had a silk cotton cloth nearer to this shade and now I got an idea for the color combo to be used in that. Thanks.,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your suggestions Shami..actually i had the neck pattern for this design..I did select small part from the neck design and did this pattern for neck..I just wanted to try this way..shaded light blue also looks awesome for this colour..waiting to see your work..
DeleteThank you Margaret..usually i will be very careful while ironing ..may be I was too tensed with some or the other. Have few ideas..let me wait for sometime to get some ideas from others..
ReplyDeleteWanted to ask you this...but it is not connected to this post... quite some time ago you had done a post on "badla" embroidery...flat metallic silver strips.....I want to know where you bought it... do you know of any place in Bangalore..or online shops selling them? I tried asking in Raja Market but didn't get it
ReplyDeleteone more thing ..how is "badla" pronounced??? I had a tough time telling shopkeepers what I was looking for
Adila when I went to my craft store I will enquire..sometime back I saw some coloured strips there..these days they are not available they said..dont know about online supply..if you google you may find..

Nice colour combination. It's not easy to iron silk materials. It had happened to me many times. You can cut out the embroidered part and use it as a patchwork.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear from you Ina..that is nice idea..will use as patch work for bag or cushion cover..stitch one more for sleeve..:)
